Once again, the elimination round of the American Idol commenced to exile one more contestant. However, unlike previous elimination rounds, this one was short and in no ways can be described as 'Exciting'. Main reason being that almost everyone had a pretty fair idea, as to who was going home.

The night began with the trio leading a group, singing 'Ain't No Stopping Us Now.'  Like a pre-rehearsed ceremony, host Ryan Searcrest again went to great lengths to tell his viewers that 56 million votes were cast immediately after the performance night. Next, came Fantasia who gave an outstanding and a captivating performance.

For last night's elimination round, all three contestants were given an opportunity to see the video of their journey through American Idol. This was a welcome break from repetitive rituals of a usual elimination night.

Results Time:

No big fanfare, no melodramas and no suspense this time. Right off the bat, Syesha Mercado was declared as 'Eliminated'. Meaning, that David Archuleta and David Cook remain as the two finalists for the crown of 'American Idol'

Commenting on her elimination from American Idol, Syesha Mercado said, “I'm never focused on what everybody wants because what everybody wants is going to be obvious in the end, so what's the point of pointing it out or assuming. It is what it is and whoever wins, that's who's supposed to win. I never focused on that.  I just was proud of myself of making this far and being the last girl standing. I'm honored to have a great opportunity like this."

She further added, “Success is different for every person, and for me, this was very successful - making it to Top 3. I made it in my eyes. I set a goal and I got there and I'm very, very, very happy. I'm at peace. I feel like I've made it and only great things can come from here on out."

Hang on to your seats people! It is time for an explosive finale between David Archuleta and David Cook.
