Yet another round of elimination began last night on American Idol with the bottom three playing tough to stay in the race. Chikezie, Syesha and Jason had landed in the bottom three. There was a lot of excitement in the air, coupled with anxiety for the final three contestants. At the elimination round, most people anticipated Jason to be binned. Surprisingly, it turned out to be Chikezie who got eliminated from the American Idol. Speculations are doing rounds of Idol forums, saying, that it might have been a mistake to send Chikezie home so early in the show.

In the post episode interview, Chikezie mentioned that he had doubts about choosing the Beatles's songs. However, he later decided to go ahead with his selection because it selection appealed to him. He did not worry as to how the songs would turn out to be and now he has no regrets about his choice. One could feel that Chikezie enjoyed every moment of the competition, just by the way he was speaking. He still had the same vibrant energy and enthusiasm that he had shown throughout his journey on American Idol. He never worried about winning or impressing the judges, but just having a good time and do what he loves the most, 'Singing'.

A humble Chikezie showed no signs of complaint or disappointment. Instead, he was relieved that he didn't have to see one of the other contestants get eliminated. According to him, American Idol has been an incredible experience and he has learnt that hard work always reaps benefits. He also received some good advice from some of the best voice coaches on how to further fine tune his voice. As for his future plans, Chikezie wants to record some tracks with different genres of music, his favorite being 'Fusion'.
