American Idol | Garrett, Joanne, Colton & Amy Voted Out!
1 ViewsFebruary 26, 2008 - The American Idol contestants Garrett, Joanne, Colton and Amy were voted off during the first week. However, despite their untimely departure from the show, all of them have taken the exit with grace.
Garrett said that he was shocked at being voted off so soon, but he will definitely keep singing. On being asked about the potential winner, he said, "Every single person brings something different and unique to the table and everyone's very talented." Unlike Garrett, Amy Davis said that she wasn't surprised by her early departure, as she really feels that she had a few technical issues with her singing. Although she had a slight case of pink eye, Amy said she wasn't one of the unfortunate ones that were struck with the flu. As far as the most surprising part about "Idol" in general, she said that it was definitely being star-struck to see all the celebrities!
The third participant on the exit, Joanne Borgella explained that nothing could prepare you for the "whirlwind" experiences that are AI (American Idol). She was the last one to be picked and the first one to go out and on being asked about this Joanne said that she still feels "amazing to be part of the Top 24" out of the thousands who auditioned. She feels like a winner, especially considering the fact that this year is being touted as the best of the best in the talent realm.
When asked about her comment about her voice not sounding the way people expected, she said that most people think that plus sized women will sing a sort of "neo-soul," and, while she loves that music, she really prefers Pop, R & B, power ballads, and dance/club music.
Many often wonder how difficult it is to sing the final song after finding out that you are leaving that evening but, surprisingly, Joanne said, "It was a beautiful moment." The hard part for her was actually leaving such good friends. She explained that after being under that kind of stress and getting fatigued together, it's easy to form very strong bonds very quickly, which is what they did.
Colton Berry on the other hand revealed nothing on his 'rejection-feelings', however; instead he spoke a great deal about the quick bonds that were formed while on the show. Further he called the whole experience "so much fun." Even he wasn't able to name a winner but said, “This is the Top 24 chosen but the talent is ridiculous."
However, still undeterred all the rejected ones have great plans to make it big! Great going guys! Keep your spirits high.
