The elimination night started with a grand performance of '‘This Little Light of Mine’ by  The Clark Brothers, who had the won 'The Next Great American Band' (TNGAB) title. Next, Ryan Searcrest called David Cook on stage and inquired about his health condition. However, David insisted that he was feeling quite well, and that this entire thing had been blown 'out of proportion'.

Then Ryan calls on the night's bottom three for the elimination round. Kristy Lee Cook, Brook White and Ramiele Malubay are the bottom three for the night. Paula Abdul commented that both Kristy and Ramiele had good nights on Tuesday, and she was surprised and at the same time disappointed to see them in the bottom three. Simon Cowell added that he was actually surprised to see, that America had finally got their bottom three contestants spot on. Adding to this, Simon tried to explain Carly Smithson that his criticism last night about her fashion sense was only meant to do her good and should not be taken out of context.

And then came the 'crunch time'. Randy Jackson speculated that Ramiele will be the one to go home. Simon on the other hand, insisted that Brook will be safe. Then Ryan started with the over dramatic 'dim the lights routine'. So, first Kristy Cook comes onto the stage and is told that she's 'Safe'. Applause all around. Brook White who told Ryan and other Idol contestants not to worry, when she came in the bottom three, came out 'Safe'.

So by the simple mathematical principal of  3-2=1, Ramiele Malubay was the last of the bottom three, and bid farewell to American Idol. Not much of a surprise though. Considering her last few weeks of not so great performances, her departure was overdue.

So it's down to the final eight contestants on American Idol. Which means more fierce competition, great music and a lot more excitement. Be sure to tune into American Idol next week, to see them battle it out for the final prize. Do not miss it, because 'it just got better'.
