American Idol: List Trims down to Top 6
Last night on American Idol, it was elimination drama all over again. The ‘dim the lights’ routine, Ryan Searcrest’s long speeches and the whole nine yards. If you want to learn to make the minutest of tasks into mysterious dramas, then American Idol is the perfect school for you. Anyways, coming back to the elimination round, almost everyone had an idea as to who was going to be axed.
The contestants were divided into groups of two and a veil of mystery was cast over both the groups as the audience and the contestants were left pondering among themselves as to who would land up in the bottom three and who would be eliminated.
First to come on stage was Jason Castro. He had been swinging like a pendulum between ’safe’ and ‘not safe’ for quite some time now. So, Ryan Searcrest went a bit easy on him and told him straight away that he was ‘Safe’.
David Cook was up next to know his fate on American Idol. He was also declared ‘Safe’. The youngest of all the Idol contestants, David Archuleta was also declared ‘Safe’ but not before Ryan played some sinfully cruel games with the young kid. He was nervous since the beginning of the night and by making him choose a group to be with, Ryan almost gave the kid a heart attack. Carly Smithson was also declared safe after a bit of the elimination night drama.
Last night’s bottom three was an all girls night out. Syesha Mercado, Brook White and Kristy Lee Cook were all in the bottom three. Ryan then asked Simon Cowell to predict who was going home this time, to which Simon said, “Maybe Kristy – you know, your time’s up this time, sweetheart."
Result time. Kristy Lee Cook was the one to be eliminated and her decent run at American Idol had come to an end. Kristy cried after the announcement, but took the elimination in stride. Before leaving the stage, Kristy gave a reprisal of ‘Forever’ and directed it towards Simon Cowell.
