American Idol Swinging Sixties | Best show to Date
American Idol doing the music from the sixties was a great change and made the show much more enjoyable. Haley Scarnato picked the right song and the right outfit. Simon Cowell’s eyes almost came out of his head when she came jiggling up to the judge’s table and turned around showing her bare back. Face it her tits bouncing around, her sexy flirty moves and the up song was very entertaining.
Stephanie Edwards was kind of stiff and looked scared and did not do very well. Enough said.
Blake Lewis took one of my all time favorite songs and brought it up to date. All the judges liked his performance. He is so current as an entertainer I love the guy. Lakisha Jones choice of songs was another winner and her outfit was fantastic.
The million dollars worth of diamonds was such a nice touch and the wonderful staging with the lights and all. I can’t believe that Simon didn’t like her tonight.
Phil Stacey rocked out with “Tobacco Road” putting on a full stadium rock level performance. Paula couldn’t contain herself she was rocking around with him. Simon did not like it, saying that he needed grit in his voice to sing that type of song.
I didn’t know Jordan Sparks could put on such a mature and powerful performance. She is so cute, so this was such a different side of her.
Sanjaya chose the wrong song with “You Really Got Me” and did not sing it well. He really butchered the song. The judges liked him, I don’t know why.
“Paint It Black” is such a powerful song and a good choice for Gina Glocksen. It shows her hard rocker side. Simon really hated her performance. She did get off pitch some.
“She’s Not There” from the Zombies was Chris Sligh’s pick . I got a chill at one point. He did a great job on it and almost nailed Simon Cowell with the microphone stand.
Melinda Doolittle sang, “As Long as He Needs Me”, a torch song. I think she chose the wrong song to finish with. It should have been an up song and not so boring. She did sing the song exceptionally well, still one of the best singers in the show. Simon Cowell said it was and impeccable vocal. I agree.
