American Idol- Trims to Top 5
1 ViewsAfter the Top Six Contestants' stellar renditions of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical compositions, it was time for the elimination round. One piece of the show, that almost all of us hate to watch. To entice the crowd and make a mess of the elimination round in the usual American Idol style, two of the three judges (Paula Abdul & Simon Cowell) missed the opening of the show entirely and sneaked in between the opening credits.
The elimination round began with David Archuleta and David Cook up on the stage and were quickly declared safe and sent back. Most of the people are already betting on a David v/s David final showdown. Next on the stage were Syesha Mercado and Brooke White. Syesha was feeling quite confident after her mind-blowing performance of the 'One Rock 'n' Roll Too Many.' On the other hand, Brooke was looking extremely nervous and at times looked positively petrified. After a few tense moments, both the ladies were declared safe and this was complimented by a torrent of tears from Brooke White. This unexpected outburst from Brooke, compelled Paula Abdul to come on the stage to comfort White.
Lastly, Jason Castro and Carly Smithson were called upon the stage to bear witness to their fate on American Idol. Jason looked extremely nervous and looked prepared to bear the brunt of the comments that followed his performance of 'Memory'. Then, to the relief of Jason, Carly Smithson was summoned to the bottom three stools. Which left Carly as the only contestant on the bottom three slot, meaning that it was her who was eliminated.
So, with the elimination of Carly Smithson the Top American Idol Contestants list has been trimmed down to 'Top 5'. Next week the remaining contestants will have the honor of being conditioned by none other than Neil Diamond. Natasha Bedingfield will also perform Live for Wednesday night's American Idol.
