American Idol voting on Entertainment Weekly
1 ViewsAmerican Idol voting on Entertainment Weekly shows top American Idol contestants so far. I was surprised to find Melinda Doolittle leading with 42% of the Entertainment Weekly votes. Lakrisha Jones is in second with only 17% of Entertainment Weekly’s votes. Lakrisha has the better voice than Melinda. Blake Lewis has 14% of the votes Jordin Sparks has received only 7% of the readers votes. Gina Glockson has 4%, Chris Richardson has 3% of the votes so far. Stephanie Edwards, Sanjaya Malakar, Haley Scarnato and Phil Stacey all have only 2% of the votes on the Entertainment Weekly web site. It will probably be one of those three that gets eliminated this week.
Lakrisha Jones and Melinda Doolittle have great voices but I think Blake Lewis willhave the better career because he does much more current versions of the songs and is more of an entertainer.
OK they keep saying they are “pitchy.” What does that mean? People magazine has a good example.

I don't think Melinda has an inferior voice, personally, not that it matters at their level. What I like about Melinda is her voice coupled with her performance. LaKisha may grow into a better interpreter but as of now I think Melinda is much better at interpreting and personalizing her songs. I don't think I've enjoyed a performance more on AI than her My Funny Valentine. I can add to that that Melinda's personality is much more endearing, too.
That said, I like them both very much and wish them both great success.
