Alaina Alexander, Leslie Hunt, Nicholas Pedro and A.J. Tabaldo were voted off by American Idol viewers. One of the weakest singers, Antonella Barba, managed to stay thanks to a big publicity boost from racy photos of her topless that have been circulating on the Internet. Once again there is no such thing as bad publicity, just spell the name right.

After AJ Tabaldo was eliminated Paula Abdul could not hide her disappointment saying. “Truthfully, this is a singing competition, "I don't feel tonight reflects this."  The truth is American Idol is not a singing competition once it gets to this phase, it becomes a popularity contest. The contestants not only need to be able to sing, they need to entertain and be interesting. Antonella Barba is an example of that. The entertainment world is full of celebrities that do not have that much talent but demand the world’s attention. Paris Hilton is a prime example, she is interesting and in her strange way entertaining.

American Idol will return March 6, 7 and 8. March 1 the show goes back to the twice a week schedule and will mix the guys and girls together.
