The American Idol conspiracy theories aside the latest results are in. Gina Glocksen has been relieved of her servitude under the American Idol indentured servant system. Is she crying tears of relief or disappointment? She will have a nice summer on tour being paid to do what she likes, Rock Out! She will go on to have a good career.

Face it from now on people are going to be disappointed when they lose. Well Chris Sligh wasn’t, he was relieved. This year’s show has gotten very strange with all the conspiracy theories: Sanjya Malakar was staying in the competition because the India call centers were calling for him. A phone technology company was selling dialing software that kept him in play. Howrad Stern’s comparatively little audience was voting for him. Someone was on a grassy knoll voting for him. He is popular with pre-teen girls who will re-dial forever. Wait that one might be true!

I always thought Gina Glocksen was a little to rocker for this audience and it makes sense that she got voted off. Sorry no conspiracy here. American Idol demands $20,000 per second for commercials bringing in $30 million each night. The average viewing audience is 32 million. That is more than enough to make even Simon Cowell smile. We are entertained while watching a combination of a train wreck, car crash, dinner with a dysfunctional family and great singing. I love it.
