Socialite Paris Hilton has been in news but for shocking reasons. While attending a fashion party at Milan, Hilton was pictured with a transparent bag and was caught carrying cannabis. A witness reported- "Paris had her bag open for quite a while as she applied lip gloss. There were a few shocked faces around her but she carried on chatting away."

Several British newspapers published her pictures as she looked through her handbag for a lip gloss. The media representative explained that Hilton rolls her own tobacco cigarettes. "Things are not always as they appear. It would be unfair to draw any conclusions based solely on these photos. I just want to get something clear," said publicist Elliot Mintz. "Paris Hilton rolls her own tobacco cigarettes. It was tobacco," he insisted.

Paris was also in news last week for being involved in a catfight with Shanna Moakler, the ex-wife of Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker. Reportedly, Paris Hilton was kissing Travis when  a furious Shanna  punched her in the jaw. According to Hilton, Moalker “…'used the most vile of language and she threw a punch in my left jaw so hard." Moakler, former Miss USA, denied punching and said, "I don't think she's a good person. She makes a lot of money pulling these stunts in the media, and I want nothing to do with it I'm not the one getting DUIs. I'm not the one in police stations. It's all juvenile and stupid."

Paris Hilton is reported to have dumped Shanna Moakler ex-Travis Barker after the incident. A popular magazine reports that Paris and Travis, were in Las Vegas to celebrate Nicky Hilton's 23rd birthday and to attend parties for the grand opening of Social House restaurant and the two-year anniversary of Tangerine Lounge & Nightclub. Hilton called it quits with Travis and a friend said: “Paris realized this was not what she needed in her life right now.”

Last month she was charged with drunk driving after attending a charity event. Paris insists she drank only one cocktail but was driving erratically only because she had not eaten all day and was speeding to get a burger. She is due to address the charges in court in December.

Legendary rocker Rod Stewart defends Paris Hilton and told the media, "I always found Paris to be extremely polite, at least she is when she's around me.” “She's a very nice girl, I think sometimes she gets a bad rap,” he told Ellen DeGeneres on her chat show. Stewart's daughter Kimberly Stewart and the Hilton sisters grew up in the same social circles. Rod added that he felt Paris would grow out of courting the media in due time. "She enjoys her publicity. (But) she'll grow out of it I think, too. When she finds the right guy in her life she'll get everything in perspective and leave the press alone, and the press will leave her alone hopefully," he said.
