Gilmore Girls 2006 Season

The hot favorite Gilmore Girls is back with the 7th season. This season picks up with Lorelai getting up in bed with Christopher. If you remember, Lorelai had given an ultimatum to Luke for marriage, which had no immediate positive effects on Luke. Lorelai was heartbroken and turned to Christopher for comfort.

As we all saw, the last season ended with her getting too comfortable. This season she wakes up confused and guilty. She gets back home and tries to get rid of all that reminds her of Luke. Christopher is definitely caring and lovable but is he the right guy for Lorelai?

Luke, on the other hand, is repentant and trying to win her back. Though he is good hand at many things, he might not exactly be the more sensitive of the two. So who gets her?

There are 22 episodes this season and they should decide who is worthy of Lorelai. Then there is Rory who is growing up. She and Logan are entering turbulent times. She is making new friends. She is starting to have an opinion. At a time when Logan has different plans for his life, Rory meets her old friend Marty at a friend’s (Lucy’s) party.

The new writer of the show David S. Rosenthal reveals that Marty’s introduction had to be accidental and it will have interesting effects on Rory’s life. Talking of Rosenthal, there are many fans that are missing Team Palladino, the writer who departed with the last season. In fact, many fan forums are talking about the losing charm of the series, lack in wit and humor etc.

C’mon, it’s really not that bad. The first few episodes were certainly a period of transition. But to say that the Gilmores have changed or lost in wit does not hold any more. Rosenthal has done a good job so far and he should be complemented for it. Listen to the Gilmore Girls podcast.
