We are now down to the final 4 and it is getting serious! I am starting to think it will be a guy that wins it this season. Despite the girls talents, the boys are just so much better overall!

Lets get to the dancing!

Will & Courtney
Samba: Despite being off-beat a couple of times with eachother, it was really good. They impressed with their hip movement – but when they got caught up in technique, they looked a little too ‘placed’. Nigel loved the chemistry and Mary was her normal over the top self – claiming she was being punked because they were so good? I don’t t know…she was a bit crazy tonight…
Hip-Hop: (lyrical) Other than the fact that the flower in Courtney’s hair looked like a growth…it was fabulous. They proved that a slow hip-hop can be just as powerful when it is done right. Mary said it best "If I didn’t think this was good you would have to cart me off to the funny farm!" (i think she might belong there anyway…).
Will’s solo: Dressed as James Brown (although it looked more like Kat Williams) he performed really well, and it looked great.
Courtney’s solo: She is so elegant and when she performs her solo’s, her training really shows through…

Twitch & Katee
Contemporary: Any routine that starts out with a hot, passionate and angry liplock is bound to be fabulous – and it absolutely was!!!! Mia outdid herself with this choreography. It was fantastically hysterical, and so well performed. I loved every minute – and so did the judges! They were all so happy with the performance and Mary gave them screams of excitement…
Broadway: I don’t even know what to say about it – i was just so entertained the whole time. They really are a great pair! The judges gave them rave reviews again - I wouldn’t be surprised to see them as the final 2 (or at least top 4)
Twitch’s solo: He is by far the most talented overall of the guys - his solo was (of course) fantastic, but the fact that he does everything so well and only started really dancing 4 years ago? He is just awesome!
Katee’s solo: As always, she looked great and should be safe. On a side note – to all contestants – stop using Celine! (sorry, she bugs me…)

Mark & Comfort
Hip-Hop: They did well – and had some really great tricks (Mark lifted and flipped Comfort over his shoulder!), but I don’t think it was good enough compared to the other dancers… Nigel even said the same thing "if you’re in the bottom two, it’s not because you aren’t good, it’s because the others are just better"
Foxtrot: Their song was called Lady Luck, but I don’t think they’ll get lucky enough to be out of the bottom…
Mark’s solo: As always, it’s ok – but not fabulous
Comfort: She is really good in her own element, unfortunately I just don’t like her!

Joshua & Chelsie
Argentine Tango: It was really well done, sexy and passionate PLUS the technical side was all there. As Mary said, "the dance translated fabulously!"
Disco: Whatever else was done in the dance – it was all overshadowed by one lift, one that they have wanted to see on the show for 4 years, and it went flawlessly (I will try to hunt down a clip of it tomorrow for those who missed it). It was so great I had to rewind my tv to watch it again!
Chelsie’s solo: I think she has it the hardest out of all of the performers, because ballroom (her technique) is so much a partner dance – but it is her 19th birthday today, so i can’t say anything bad  (not that I would about her anyway, I love her dancing!)
Joshua’s solo: He is jus tso unbelievably talented (any man that can do the splits and still make it look hip-hop impresses me!). I definitely see him safe.

So for the elimination tomorrow night, I would guess (and hope!!!) that they will be:

And – Kat looked amazing!!! Her dress was gorgeous – the color, the cut, the fit – it was great!

Onto the important part – the ELIMINATIONS!!

The bottom 2 girls (who danced for their lives – although it didn’t make a difference as the vote was decided by america) were: Comfort and Kherington. I have to say I’m not surprised with those. Comfort really didn’t deserve to come back and Kherington failed to wow the judges

The bottom 2 boys (again, danced for their lives but it doesn’t matter) were: Mark and Gev. Well, I was wrong about Will going home -  I guess Jessica really was dragging him down. I understand why Mark is in the bottom, as he and Kherington weren’t fabulous (although he does pick great solo songs). And then Gev – he is fabulous, but the problem is – the others are just better (the fact that he did his solo to a michael buble and he is a hip-hop dancer was pretty sweet!).

So, the final reults after the break…lol

We say goodbye to: Kherington (BULL F*ING S*$%) I am sorry – but that is absolutely bull. Comfort should have gone home. She had been eliminated once – she should have been gone again. & Gev (sad, but the guys really are all good – and someone had to go home)

Now, onto how the competition works from this point on: The dancers have been re-paired, and picked the partner for just this week. The pairs will be performing 2 pairs dances and then each of the dancers will be performing a solo. Then, the voting is done for the individual dancers, not the pairs. And the judges will not be a part of the elimination,  it will completely be based on America’s vote for the individual dancers. i know – it’s a lot of changes – but it should make for some very interesting dances and results!!!!

I am really excited to see what happens.

So, here they go!

Courtney & Joshua
Hip-Hop: The idea was really creative – she was a frankenstien being brought to life ‘learning’ to dance. They performed really well together and had create musicality. The judges really liked the routine and the fact that they got involved with the characters. Joshua really blew everyone away, but Courtney held her own.
Rhumba: They both looked incredible (gotta love Joshua’s tight pants!) – the dancing was good too (lol). Really thought, the judges (and I) loved it. It was sexy, powerful and well performed. They definitely showed up tonight.
Courtney’s solo: Well done – although I didn’t really like her Celine Dion song pick.
Joshua’s solo: He just looked and moved great. He is a step above.

Chelsie & Gev:
Jive: Although they missed a couple of holds, it was really well done over all and definitely showed that they belong in this competition for a while! The judges thought it was great, and Chelsie really stole the show (it is her style after all…)
Contemporary: I really liked it. The story was well told, and their emotion was very true.  
Chelsie’s solo: Very pretty and fun. She had great hip movement and looked great.
Gev’s solo: This was the first time we have seen him solo since the Vegas rounds since he has never been in the bottom – and I was happily surprised. I had forgotten how good in his own style he really was!

Kherington & Mark:
Country Two-Step: It was fun and Kherington’s smile never left her face, but unfortunately they were a bit off time and out of sync. The grabs and holds were really poor. The judges gave them credit because it really is a difficult dance – but they did tell them that it wasn’t up to par.
Jazz: This was a true jazz routine, lots of lifts, movement and fun. They did much better with this than the first (although that isn’t saying much…). Judges liked it better than the first but it still wasn’t OMG good.
Kherington’s solo: This probably saved her butt.
Mark’s solo: Bohemian Rhapsody – fabulous! totally crazy and fun. loved it.

Comfort & Twitch:
Waltz: Twitch was way better than Comfort (of course) and she was no where near good enough to save herself, but it wasn’t ‘top 10 dancer’ material. Judges didn’t feel like they were good at all. It was lacking the power they expected, and Mary really reprimanded them for the fact that they were so choppy and clunky.
Hip-Hop: Interesting costumes to say the least – but I digress. For both of them, they were in their own style – and it was AWESOME!!!!! This is the first (and probably the only time) I liked Comfort. As Lil’C said – it was buck.
Comfort’s solo: I have to give her credit in the fact that she is good (still not great) in her own style, but that alone can’t save her.
Twitch’s solo: As always, just incredible.

Katee & Will:
Broadway: Really good! Judges thought the character and the choreography were explosive – Mary put them on the ‘love boat!’
Pas de Deux: 1st thing – they danced to a song by David Archuleta (America Idol runner up) and all i have to say is WHY!?!? anyway – onto the dance. This was the first time this season we have seen a Pas de Deux and it was really beautiful. The judges were blown away – saying they were 2 of the most beautiful dancers they have ever seen
Katee’s solo: Beautiful and elegant, she has incredible lines and body control
Will’s solo: I liked his, but I don’t think he did better than any of the other guys

My guess for the girl and guy that will be going home:
Comfort – duh! she was eliminated once, she’ll be eliminated again. Plus, it wasn’t really that fair that she got to come back at all.
Will - unfortunately for him, the other guys are just better than he is. Otherwise, he is a really good dancer.

These pairings and the routines should be very interesting. And I am super excited for the Country Two-Step!

Aparently, last week’s eliminated girl, Comfort, will be back this week. Reports say that Jessica has injured herself and is out of commision for up to 5 weeks. This means she will not be able to continue this season. So, they brought Comfort back to replace her. I dunno, I think it would have been way better if they just left it will 9 girls. I mean Nigel even said that they wished they could have dumped 2 girls anyway – why bring one back that wasn’t good enough already?!?!

The elimination comes as no surprise – it was only a matter of time before they left. The dancers are really getting down to the best of the best (for the most part)…and hopefully America keeps judging them based on dance skills, not on ‘looks’. So far, this season really is going well – the judges are doing great, America is voting well, and the dances are amazing! I can’t wait for next week!!!

Couple #1/#7: Chelsie & Mark
1. Salsa: Chelsie had it easy it think, as latin is her style. But, as we have seen, a lot of other dancers have fallen short in their own style. Luckily, she didn’t. Chelsie’s dress (or lack thereof) was perfect for her and the dance. They definitely had the steps, the turns and the fluidity – but the passion wasn’t quite there this week for me, surprisingly. Judges gave them great reviews -of course- and they’ll be safe this week (at least they should be!).
2.Boradway It was absolutely sexy. The two of them are partnered so well together, I hate to see what will happen when they go to singles. Judges overall really liked it. They would have liked to have seen a little more tightness in the technical from Mark – but other than that, the reviews were great. If the first dance didn’t do it, this one will definitely keep them safe.

Couple #2/#8: Comfort & Thayne
1. Hip-hop: In Thayne’s video, he said he wanted to look tough, not some ‘white-boy’. I hate to tell you – you failed! Comfort held them together (she should have – it’s her style!), but she still wasn’t fabulous. The judges gave mixed reviews – the choreography and steps were good, but there wasn’t the ‘connection’ between them. Mia put it very well, "it was a little better than good. But only a little". This one put them at risk for the bottom 3 again.
2.Contemporary Judges didn’t think they danced it anywhere near where they could have, or what the choreography deserved. Nigel even said he would have liked to have seen another couple dance it so the choreography could have been done justice. I was bored – and really couldn’t capture the story from them. They are definitely in the bottom 3.

Couple #3#9: Jessica & Will
1. Contemporary Tyce wanted a ‘connection between a man and a woman’ in his choreography for them. They were definitely able to pull it off. The emotion felt real, and they were clean and on point throughout the routine. They may have finally shown they have potential. The judges loved it, and agreed that the connection was there. Lets see if it’s enough to unseat the couples who have consistently been in the top…
2. Quickstep: Great start! (I lost count of how many backward flips Will did!) And it was lots of fun…but the ‘quickstep’ it wasn’t. Mary (our ballroom expert) wasn’t thrilled, and neither were Nigel or Mia. Mia told Will he should be tired of carrying Jessica, and that she needs a new partner. I think he’ll get his change, as they should be in the bottom 3.

Couple #4/#10:Courtney & Gev
1.Cha-Cha: Sexy. Fun. Clean. Fabulous. Judges loved it. America will love it.
2. Jazz: Indiana Jones meets battle of the sexes. Nigel thought it was cotton candy, missing of substance. But Mary loved it, thought it was raw and fun and well done. Mia agreed with Mary, and thought it was great. I agreed with the judges, and think that they really performed this week. I would definitely say they are safe.

Couple #5/#11:Kherington & Twitch
1.Krumping Twitch was PHENOMENAL!!! Kherington was okay – actually, I’ll give her good – since this is so far from her style, and she still pulled it off. Together, they looked good – and I think they’ll be okay. Judges gave them great reviews – and thought this was the first time on the show that Krump was really done well.
2. Tango Nigel felt that Twitch looked uncomfortable and the steps weren’t quite right. Mary loved the beginning and the ending, but the middle fell short. Mia thought there was nothing there this time. I agree with the judges for sure. Between the two of them, the passion wasn’t…. Unfortunately, because of the strength of the other dancers, they may end up at risk.

Couple #6/#12:Katee & Joshua
1. Waltz: The judges didn’t love it. They didn’t think the technical side was quite there. They were right in the fact that the technical wasn’t perfect, but the lifts, the beauty of the dance and the emotion made up for it quite a bit. This is the first night I didn’t love them…let’s hope their next dance is better.
2.Bollywood: This is a first-time ever dance for the show. And they performed it fantastically! It was stunningly beautiful and greatly entertaining! Their costuming was perfect, and I was really impressed. The judges loved it, and were glad to see that the first time it was performed – it was performed fabulously! This dance saved their butts this week.

This week, the bottom 3 was a little tougher, as (almost) everyone is performing well. So, my guess for the bottom 3 are:

1. Comfort & Thayne – yeah, this was easy, they are falling short all over the place
2. Jessica & Will – despite their first dance, the quickstep (as it has been for many others) was the ‘kiss of death’ for them.
3. Kherington & Twitch – it’s really sad to have to type that – as I am usually such a huge fan of them, but this week, they were just outdanced.

As a reminder, last week was the first time that parts of a couple were eliminated (Chris and Chelsea were eliminated), leaving their partners to be paired this week (Comfort and Thayne). Tonight, they danced together for the first time (they went 2nd and 9th) you can read my thoughts on the new pairing below….

On a side note….Cat is usually dressed fairly well (she has her wierd moments)…but tonight? Really? Who decided that was the right outfit/hair? She looks like a 60’s pinup girl mixed with a penguin!

Couple #1 & #8: Jessica & Will 

Hip-Hop: Absolutely tragically horrid. They looked like they had popped an Ambien (even Nigel said it looked like ‘Hip-hop on sleeping pills’). Not a single one of their movements hit the way it should have, and it was down right boring. Judges weren’t as harsh as me (go figure ) but they were not happy with it either. If I were them, I’d be preparing my solo…
